Mommy Daughter Night Out: KIDZ BOP Life of the Party Tour

I received press passes to facilitate this review.

KIDZBOP Tour Entrance

Bear turns 4 next week (waaahh!). We threw her a Frozen party this past weekend and she had 4 of her little friends come to her party. Watching them giggle and play made my heart melt. While bittersweet, to watch her grow up before my eyes is truly a blessing.

She’s really into pop music lately (“Mommy goes to work, work, work, work, work…” is her personal spin on Rihanna’s song), so I knew she would FLIP at a real pop concert. Many pop singers/groups aren’t really G-rated, so when I heard the KIDZ BOP The Life of the Party Tour was coming to town, I jumped at the chance to go.

I first introduced Bear to KIDZ BOP last year with KIDZ BOP 27 (they’re onto 32 now). I liked the album for their G-rated version of mainstream hits, but what I didn’t realize until I saw them live is that these kids are incredibly talented. They sing LIVE while dancing (and their dancing is crisp) – they are like mini Justin Timberlake-caliber. Seriously impressive.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 1 hour and 25 minutes of live music “sung by kids for kids.” The songs they sang were actually more palatable versions of the hits Cake by the Ocean, Sorry, and One Call Away. It took Bear a while to warm up and get comfortable with all the other screaming children, but by the second to last song, she was singing along and dancing in her seat. I captured this selfie of us (I had to share even though the quality is terrible) and you can see the pure joy on her face.

We had a great time just the two of us. While we love being with daddy and brother, I love having mommy daughter time together. I see so much of me in her. It’s hard to remember a time without responsibilities, so it’s refreshing seeing the world through her eyes.
